GeoEye-1 is the world's highest resolution and most accurate commercial Earth-imaging satellite.
The Company's growing global sales network currently comprises 12 strategic business partners (government and commercial) and more than 100 resellers who use our products and services for a vast array of applications. GeoEye has over 700 employees and is headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, with facilities in McLean, Virginia; Denver, Colorado; St. Louis, Missouri; Mission, Kansas; and Singapore. In March 2007, the Company formed the GeoEye Foundation. The Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization founded on the belief that we have an opportunity to share our technology and resources to help train others to map, measure and monitor the Earth. The Foundation makes awards to students, universities and non-governmental organizations that use satellite imagery in their research. Students have used our imagery for archeology, land cover assessment, climate change, forestry, geospatial intelligence and many other studies. Non-governmental organizations have used our imagery for humanitarian relief and disaster response.

History
GeoEye was formed in January 2006 when Virginia-based ORBIMAGE purchased the assets of Colorado-based Space Imaging. One of our predecessor companies first began performing geospatial services for the U.S. government in July 1987. In March 2007, GeoEye acquired MJ Harden, enabling GeoEye to expand its offerings to include aerial imagery and specialized geospatial processing services. In December 2010, GeoEye purchased SPADAC, a Virginia-based geospatial predictive analytics company. GeoEye Analytics provides geospatial predictive analytic solutions to over 40 customers in key markets including defense, intelligence and homeland security.
