This half-meter resolution image of Washington D.C.’s National Mall was collected by the GeoEye-1 satellite on Jan. 20, 2009 to commemorate the Inauguration of President Barack Obama. The image, taken through high, wispy white clouds, shows portions of the monuments along the National Mall and the masses of people between the Capitol and the Washington Monument.
