This two-meter resolution image of Redoubt Volcano, Alaska was collected by the GeoEye-1 satellite on March 30, 2009. According to news reports, the volcano erupted on March 26, 2009, sending a plume of ash into the air some 19,800 meters (65,000 feet) above sea level. (click to download)
