This half-meter resolution color image of the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico was collected by the GeoEye-1 satellite on June 30, 2009. Arecibo Observatory is the world's largest single-aperture telescope ever constructed. The dish is 1,000 feet in diameter, 167 feet deep, and covers an area of approximately 20 acres.
