This half-meter resolution satellite image features the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The image was taken on Aug. 23, 2010, nearly five years after Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans on Aug. 29, 2005. The Superdome is New Orleans most recognizable landmark and home of the New Orleans Saints, the 2010 Super Bowl champions. The dome measures 273 feet (82.3 meters) high with a diameter of 680 feet (210 meters).
