About This Image
Rio de Janeiro is the second largest city in Brazil, famous for its natural settings and beaches. The bay was discovered on January 1, 1502 by the Portuguese, who named it Rio de Janeiro or “January River” because, at the time, they believed it to be the mouth of a large river extending to the sea.
