This one-meter resolution satellite image shows a large “Welcome” sign near Auckland, New Zealand’s Airport. The sign was constructed to welcome visitors attending the Rugby World Cup 2011 event, hosted by Auckland, Sept. 9 – Oct. 23. The Rugby World Cup is held every four years and is the third largest, world sporting event, featuring 20 nations competing in 48 matches.
