This one-meter resolution satellite image shows The Pennsylvania State University, commonly referred to as Penn State, located at University Park. Penn State was chartered by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1855 and is the state's only land-grant university. It is currently home to over 80,000 students with campuses and facilities throughout Pennsylvania. The image was collected by the IKONOS satellite on Oct. 20, 2009 while flying 423 miles above the Earth at an average speed of 17,000 mph.
