About This Image

Majorca is Spain’s largest island located in the Mediterranean Sea. This image shows La Seu (top left of center), a cathedral built between 1229 -1346 in the city of Palma on the southwest side of the island. The cathedral is considered the crown jewel of Gothic architecture in Europe. GeoEye-1 .50-meter resolution collected 6 April 2009.
