This half-meter resolution satellite image features a portion of the Bonneville Dam, located 40 miles east of Portland, Oregon in the Columbia River Gorge. The dam provides electrical power generation, fish and wildlife protection, recreation and navigation. Bonneville Dam was built and is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was designated as a National Historical Landmark District in 1987.
