This half-meter resolution image was taken July 16, 2011 and features the Embarcadero Marina Park off San Diego Bay in Southern California. Other highlights in the image include the San Diego Convention Center, the San Diego Marriott Marquis Marina, Manchester Grand Hyatt and Seaport Village. Petco Park is to the right or east of the Convention Center, near the Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego's National Historical District and home of the San Diego Padres since the baseball stadium opened in 2004. The high-resolution image was collected by the GeoEye-1 satellite while flying 423 miles above the Earth at an average speed of 17,000 mph, or four miles per second.
