Situational Awareness
Situational Awareness is the ability to know what’s going on during an event, especially when it comes to mission critical situations that requires immediate action. Users need to immediately know what's going on during an event, allowing them to quickly answer questions such as: Is there really something going on? Where is it? How big is it? Is it spreading? GeoEye imagery products from archive and new collection allow users to visualize elements in this environment and provide comprehension of their relationships and meaning along with the capability to show trends and generate projections of their status in the future. This combination of information and the development of a composite picture of the situation along with future projections provide the basis for decisions as to the appropriate courses of action to take to prevent, mitigate, or resolve the situation.
