Crisis Response

As the number of crisis events continues to escalate worldwide, DigitalGlobe combines Earth imagery, geospatial expertise, and enabling technologies to offer first responders, governments, and commercial risk organizations with the ability to see, understand, and respond to crisis. Because of the solutions we offer, our clients are able to mitigate, even avoid the loss of life and damage to property that comes with potential disasters.

Preparing for the impact caused by a crisis event requires effective pre- and post-event planning and rapid response. Fast access to geospatial data and imagery is an important part of saving lives, protecting property, and ensuring long-term recovery. DigitalGlobe’s highly accurate satellite imagery provides the most precise before-and-after views of affected areas, where insight from imagery is heightened by extracting features and overlaying geospatial analytics. And because our clients have access to imagery though online, on-demand delivery, they can make fully informed decisions immediately.

Crisis Event Service Features

Individually or as bundled solutions, DigitalGlobe provides an expansive portfolio of products and services that help clients respond to events that call for effective emergency management.

Archive Imagery for Pre-Event Planning and Mitigation. Our clients have access to an extensive archive of imagery dating back to 1999, as well as current imagery for areas that have recently changed.

Fast Access to Current Imagery when a Crisis Occurs. DigitalGlobe facilitates effective and vigorous emergency response by constantly acquiring new imagery both during and immediately after a crisis event. Clients have online, on-demand access and hosting of pre- and post-event imagery and geospatial data, which enable them to coordinate their emergency management efforts with other agencies.

Frequent Imagery Updates for Post-Event Recovery. Working with our clients, we can determine how frequently we need to provide post-event imagery updates against areas of interest. This decision enables clients to monitor ongoing response activity, track progress, and perform change and temporal analysis.
