Commercial fishermen want to get to the catch as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. DigitalGlobe’s SeaStar Commercial Fishing Service gives you the location information you need to need to make that happen. Plankton concentration data is collected, combined with oceanographic and meteorological information, and processed daily. From there, it's sent directly to the fishing vessel, where the captain can use it to promptly navigate to the closest and potentially most plentiful fishing areas.

SeaStar Weather Plus+ Service

DigitalGlobe offers this as a stand-alone data service for accurate and detailed weather forecast information, delivered by email to vessels at sea.

OrbMap 7 and MasterCast

With the easy-to-use OrbMap software, captains can combine their local knowledge with the digital oceanographic map data to create customized images showing where fish are likely to concentrate or gather. OrbMap 7 includes MasterCast, an interactive tool which automatically analyzes data and identifies fishing grounds based on the captain's preferred conditions. OrbMap 7 has a NMEA interface for the onboard GPS device. OrbMap also supports 14 languages.

Data Visualization & Analysis Software

Create vivid and precise images showing where fish are likely to gather by using DigitalGlobe's OrbMap™ software. This data visualization and analysis program is easy to use and allows customization based on a client's personal knowledge. OrbMap also seamlessly interfaces with onboard Global Positioning System (GPS) units and supports multiple languages.
