GeoEye Satellite Imagery Products
GeoEye is the world’s largest commercial satellite imagery company, delivering the highest-quality, most accurate imagery and products to better map, measure, monitor and manage the world. GeoEye has set the standard for quickly delivering high-resolution, tonally balanced, mosaicked images for a variety of industries and applications. Applications range from national security and disaster assessment to urban planning and agricultural monitoring.
IKONOS
Launched in 1999, IKONOS moves over the ground at approximately seven kilometers per second, IKONOS collects 1-meter panchromatic and 4-meter multispectral data at a rate of over 2,000 square kilometers per minute. IKONOS orbits the Earth every 98 minutes at an altitude of approximately 680 kilometers or 423 miles. The satellite travels a sun-synchronous orbit, passing a given longitude at the same local time (10:30 A.M.) daily.
OrbView-2
Launched in 1997, OrbView-2 collects color imagery of the Earth’s entire land and ocean surfaces on a daily basis. Commercial fishing vessels use OrbView-2 data for detecting oceanographic conditions used to create fishing maps. The satellite also provides broad-area coverage in 2,800 km-wide swaths, which are routinely used in naval operations, environmental monitoring, and global crop assessment applications.
GeoEye-1
Slated for launch in 2008, GeoEye-1 will capture image detail up to 0.41-meters for panchromatic images, and 1.65-meters for multispectral images. GeoEye-1 will collect large areas of up to 700,000 sq. km. per day, or over 255 million sp. km. per year.
High resolution imagery from the OrbView-3 archive is available, including 1-meter panchromatic and 4-meter multispectral imagery for areas-of-interest worldwide. You can search for OrbView-3 imagery in our archive at ImageSearch.
